Job Description

Summary/Objective
Perform engineering duties in simulating machines designed by our Applications Group utilizing robot simulation software packages, Solidworks simulation, and other software packages as required.

Position Responsibilities
1.Perform full simulations of robot cells utilizing software packages from varying vendors including but not limited to:
oFanuc Roboguide
oYaskawa MotoSim
oABB RobotStudio
oSolidworks Simulation
oRockwell Automation Arena and Emulate3D
oSiemens Process Simulate
2.Detailed analysis of cycle times
3.Analysis of robot reach and payloads
4.CAD work
5.Concept development
6.Feasibility
7.Maintain a safe work environment
8.Interface with controls design
9.Interface with mechanical design
10.Troubleshooting problems
11.Brainstorm alternatives
12.May require exposure to prototype testing and rework associated with new inventions
13.Work with other engineers and take a lead role at times for prototype development
14.Provides technical assistance to Quoting Department
15.Analyzes customer requirements
16.Documentation
17.Participates in line up meetings
18.Vendor quotation
19.Generates reports
20.Participates in training
21.Investigates/research new projects
22.Other duties as assigned

Work Environment
This job includes some exposure to sounds and noise levels that are distracting or uncomfortable. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, telephones, copy machines, and filing cabinets. May require wearing common protective or safety equipment.

Physical Demands

The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The teammate must frequently lift and/or move up to ten (10) pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to twenty-five (25) pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Some travel is expected for this position.

Preferred Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree
